Service Suspended
According to sources, Indigo had 51 landings and 53 take-offs in May. In early
June, Indigo suspended service citing financial reorganization. They have ordered 25
planes but have taken delivery of two. The additional jets were to expand service to
include White Plains to Midway.
The public-charter airline faced scrutiny regarding security with the Port Authority, Gov.
Jim McGreevey and Rep. Steve Rothman as well a key members of the House Transportation
Committee and Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta.
Both McGreevey & Rothman maintain that Teterboro is not the place for scheduled
charters.

What is a "public charter"?
A public charter is a convenient, long-standing form of service
authority authorized by the U.S.
Department of Transportation that allows individual passengers to share chartered
aircraft flying between cities on a frequent and regular basis. Indigo, LLC is a public
charter operator (charterer); Indigos sister company, AirServ Inc, is the
