Wright "B" Flyer re-enacts historic 1909 flight around Statue of Liberty on May 25, 2003

Off-loading the Flyer

A reverse winch is assembled to slowly nudge the "Flyer" down the ramp.   The process is very slow because if the Flyer goes down the track too fast, the Flyer might take lift, become unstable and may not fall back onto the tracks.
